OUR  IMAGES

We came to print selling from television and the illustration of books.  Jo Elwyn Jones wrote her children's books (including the Chi Ming series read by Judi Dench) to be illustrated by her lithographer mother, Pearl Binder. For BBC Science Features she researched and organised the illustrations for Dr Jacob Bronowski's pioneering series, The Ascent of Man.

Francis Gladstone worked as a producer of documentary and docu-drama films for television. He worked for the BBC in London and was one of the team that brought NOVA to Public Television, WGBH, Boston. His films covered issues in the history of science and medicine. He is the son of the designer and screen printer, Isla Gladstone. We are currently worked in Liverpool on the regeneration of a Victorian conservatory named after Isla Gladstone which will incorporate some of her designs

We have an important collection of antique prints and our knowledge of the histories of print-making and natural history enables us to present and date these. Our interest in the continuation of on-going traditions in print making led us to the images published by Thomas Ross in England - see on the booth wall in the photo above.) These prints are made from carefully preserved copper-plates by some of the greatest 18th and 19th century British sporting and equestrian artists -- coloured by an old tradition of hand-colouring tradition vibrantly alive.
