The Range of Our Inventory--Botanicals & Special Botanical collections -- landscape architecture & gardens, fruit & vegetables -- poultry & sheep -- humming birds & parrots -- birds & animals -- dogs -- other categories....
|
At the heart of our inventory are a large & wide ranging collection of Botanical prints. As antique prints these sell for $75-$400 and are almost all presented in hand decorated mats of conservation standard, mats decorated with lines, or sometimes marbled paper that are designed to enhance the appearance of the delicate images they present -- to work as a kind of inner frame. We have a background in botany and gardening. We try to be well informed on the botanicals and florals we sell. We have specialist collections of several genera -- notably orchids which we present as a significant collection at the New York International Orchid Show. |

| Garden Plans & Items Relating to Garden Architecture: We try to collect these scarce items when we can. We have managed to keep in stock hand tinted prints of the plants of historical gardens in Italy made by the Scottish garden architect, Inigo Triggs at the turn of the 20th century. These are large, 1/2 folio size and sell for around $225. We generally have a nice collection of coloured prints by George Elgood and Beatrice Parsons ($40-$65), nostalgic of British gardens of the Gertrude Jekyll period. |

For Kitchens & Dining Rooms we have two series of attractive fruit and vegetable prints in the $39-$49 range, as well as occasional copies of scarcer French antique fruit prints by Noisette ($125-$135). As with most of our ranges of reproduction prints, the high quality colour prints are presented in standard sized mats. (This is also true of some of our antiques. Many botanical prints were elongaged in size to reflect the plant shape, but making standard frames difficult. Where we can make sense of the proportions, we always cut mats to standard sizes. |

DOGS, DOGS, DOGS... We have tried to acquire an interesting collection of images of dogs from the mid-Victorian period of Landseer to the mid-20th century. Do not necessarily expect to find 'your' dog -- the exact look of breeds has changed considerably in the last 50-100 years. However we believe that you will find a collection of the most enticing near-look-alikes, dogs large and small, hunting dogs, lap dogs, curious dogs and more. Most of the prints are $39-49 in attractive and standard sized mats. We have a small selection of antiques by Cassells, Maud Earl and others, usually $150-$225. |
